The European Coalitions for cultural diversity support the petition European filmmakers launched in order to denounce the negotiating mandate of the European Commission drafted within the framework of the forthcoming trade negotiations between Europe and the United States.

In line with the filmmakers’ statement, the Coalitions fear the risks a draft negotiating mandate would represent for cultural diversity should it not exclude any cultural, audiovisual or cinema services. On the occasion of trade discussions with the United States, they fear the right of States to implement their own policies to support creation and culture could be jeopardized.
